HASSAN: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), which was established on November 3, 1980, in Punjab to fulfil the dreams of Bhagat Singh, will celebrate its 27th foundation day on Saturday. DYFI Hassan district unit secretary Shavel Hameed said in press release here on Thursday that DYFI was a member of World Federation of Democratic Youth. WelfareMr. Hameed said that at a time when youth were caught between globalisation and communal forces, 1the .62 crore members of the federation were working for their welfare. The foundation day will be celebrated at the Hemavathi statue here at 11.45 a.m. District president B.G. Girish will unfurl the white flag (Swetha Pathake). Senior socialist leader R.P. Venkatesh Murthy and Centre of Indian Trade Unions district unit general secretary Dharmesh will address the gathering, the press release added.
