Students hurt in factional clash

MALAPPURAM: Over a dozen youngsters were injured when Sunni students belonging to the AP and EK factions clashed at South Kuttoor, near Tirur, on Thursday.

Two Democratic Youth Federation of India activists who tried to prevent the clash were injured. The violence took place at a madrasa functioning under Ansarul Huda Press over following the syllabus belonging to one faction. Talks were being held under police supervision for a settlement. — Staff Reporter
