Food Cell registers case

PUDUCHERRY: The Food Cell on Thursday registered a case against two private agencies in connection with the seizure of rice at Puducherry Railway Station. The Superintendent of Police, Food Cell, N. Ramachandran, said a case had been registered against a Karnataka-based agency, in whose name the consignment was booked for transportation to Andhra Pradesh. Another case was registered against a management security company based in Chennai for allegedly procuring the rice from PDS outlets.
