Vehicles stopped at Munnar

Theni: All vehicles, both passenger buses and lorries, were stopped at Munnar and Kumuli, bordering Kerala, following a call for hartal given by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Kerala unit in the State on Thursday in protest against the formation of Salem Railway Division by bifurcating the Palakkad division.

According to the local police, hundreds of tourists got stranded at the border check-posts. — PTI
