Night speak facility introduced

For BSNL mobile phone subscribers as a promotional offer


Make calls at 50

per cent of charges of respective plan between 11 p.m.

and 7 a.m.


MADURAI: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has introduced night speak facility for its mobile phone subscribers as a promotional offer for 90 days between November 1 and January 29, 2008.

In a statement, its Madurai General Manager (in-charge), S.E. Rajam, said that people could make calls at 50 per cent of charges of the respective plan to the BSNL network of Tamil Nadu and other states between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Besides, it has offered full and enhanced talk value on recharge and top up coupons. The talk value of recharge coupon of Rs. 200, Rs. 300, Rs. 500, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 2,000, Rs.2,500 and Rs. 5,000 has been increased to Rs. 130, Rs. 300, Rs. 500, Rs. 900, Rs. 2,400 and Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 6,700 respectively.

The public sector telecom operator has also introduced lower denomination recharge coupons at Rs. 50, Rs. 70, Rs. 100 and Rs. 150.

Similarly, the talk value of top-up coupons of Rs. 200 and Rs. 500 has been increased to Rs. 220 and Rs. 600 respectively.

The BNSL has introduced new combo plans in broadband service namely “Home 500 C” and Home 500 C plus” with a monthly rental of Rs.500 and Rs.600 with monthly free calls of Rs.175 and 50 respectively.

The subscribers need not pay separate rental for the telephone connection.

Besides a free download of 1.5 GB and 2.5 GB, the subscribers could enjoy unlimited free download during night hours, the statement said.

New pre-paid card

A new Excel Sumo prepaid card has been introduced with one year validity.

The card comes at a cost of Rs. 249 with a talk value of Rs. 30.

The call charges would be 99 paise a minute to any network within the State.

They could enjoy 365 free local SMS within a year, the General Manager said.

For the landline phones, the BSNL has waived installation charges of Rs.500 in Madurai, Theni and Dindigul districts between November 1 and January 29, 2008.

Besides, the customers could pay the deposit of Rs. 500 in five equal monthly instalments for the bookings made during the same period.
