Bangalore: The State-owned Mysore Sales International Limited (MSIL) has tied up with a private company to market food products for the first time.

The range will be initially marketed in Karnataka and will diversity to other parts of the country, said MSIL Managing Director Meera Saksena at a press conference. Under the brand name “Nandhini”, MSIL will market 11 varieties of spices, six varieties of spice powders and blends each, five types of whole pulses and dals and five cereals.

Speaking about MSIL’s diversification plans, Ms. Saksena said that they will next tap the growing ready-to-eat foods market. The packaged drinking water marketed by MSIL was gaining popularity, she added.
