Centre yet to decide
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The Union government is yet to decide on revoking President’s Rule in Karnataka and pave the way for installation of a BJP-JD(S) coalition government.
On Wednesday, Governor Rameshwar Thakur sent a report to President Pratibha Patil on the political situation.
Highly placed sources in the government said the report did not suggest any line of action and it only outlined the events after the JD(S) announced its support to the BJP.
Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said the issue was not discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on Thursday.
The Union Cabinet is likely to discuss the report on Friday.
