Spreading a message: An exhibition of paintings on cleanliness was held on Mysore City Corporation premises on Thursday. MYSORE: Visitors to the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) office on Sayyaji Rao Road on Thursday could not have missed the series of paintings displayed on its premises. The eye-catching paintings carried a message that the MCC had been seeking to propagate among the residents of the city: “Keep the city clean”. Roads and environs of Mysore recreated in the paintings were spic and span, a far cry from what the residents see on a day-to-day basis. The paintings also carried a caption reminding the residents of their responsibility to keep the city clean. The painting exhibition was organised by Sri Kalanikethana School of Arts, Mysore. The paintings done by students of the art school are being taken around the city and displayed at various locations to create awareness among the public on cleanliness. “It is roaming exhibition. We go around the city displaying our paintings and at the same time spreading the message of cleanliness and hygiene,” said Mahadeva Shetty of the art school.
