Robbers drive away in victims’ car on Hosur Road

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Three friends who were returning to the city from Mahabalipuram near Chennai in Tamil Nadu in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) were robbed of their gold jewellery, mobile phones, watches as well as the SUV by an armed gang on Wednesday night.

The incident took place around 10.30 p.m. near the 19th Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus depot on Hosur Road in Electronics City police station limits. Six men, who were riding on three motorcycles, picked a quarrel with the occupants of the SUV alleging that the vehicle hit one of their motorcycles. They then attacked M.K. Sreenivasa, a project manger with MICO and his friends Basavaraj and Prasanna, with knives.

Mr. Basavaraj suffered a deep wound on his neck. Later, three of the robbers sped away in Sreenivasa’s SUV, the police said. The Electronics City police have registered a case.
