MAHABUBNAGAR: Minister for rural development G. Chinna Reddy said that Mahabubnagar made a record progress in the entire State by taking up horticulture activity in 1700 hectares on cent percent subsidy by small and marginal farmers.
Participating in A.P. Formation Day celebrations after unfurling the Tricolour at Zilla Parishad Mini Stadium here on Thursday Mr. Chinna Reddy said that dairy activity was being promoted intensively and milk procurement will reach to the extent of two lakh litres per day by next year duly involving women groups.
Six thousand Murrah buffaloes are being supplied to deserved weaker sections on 50 per cent subsidy.The Minister also informed that over 7200 acres of land would be distributed to the landless poor on November 19. He said under Indiramma second phase programme about 1, 56, 000 rural and 5892 urban houses will be constructed. Rs. 200 crore were allocated for the development of Panchayat Raj roads in the district and 1092 watersheds are being developed to check the recurring drought, he added.
On the occasion the Rural Development Minister distributed assets worth Rs. 322 lakh to the beneficiaries under various schemes. He also inaugurated horticulture exhibition.
