CPI(M) seeks quota for Arundathiars

CHENNAI: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded that members of the Arundathiar and Adi Andhra communities, including those who had converted to Christianity, be given reservation in education and employment.

The Government should implement schemes for eliminate the practice of manual scavenging.

To highlight the demands, the party’s North Chennai unit will stage a demonstration near the Collectorate on Friday, says a party release.
