‘Yeddyurappa will be reduced to a nominal head’ BJP advised to approach Governor for elections
P.G.R. Sindhia GULBARGA: The former Minister P.G.R. Sindhia, who has been suspended from the Janata Dal (Secular), on Friday said that the 12 conditions laid down by JD(S) national president H.D. Deve Gowda with regard to the formation of a government was yet another effort by the Deve Gowda family to hog the limelight. Mr. Sindhia, who was here to address a meeting of supporters, told presspersons that the conditions gave the impression that the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy would be the real head, while B.S. Yeddyurappa, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for Chief Minister, would be only a nominal head as every decision would have to be approved by Mr. Kumaraswamy if the conditions were accepted. He said that it would be suicidal for the BJP to accept these conditions. In its own interests, it would be better if the BJP rejected these demands and approached the Governor for mid-term elections to the Assembly. Mr. Sindhia charged that under the Kumaraswamy Government most of the projects and funds sanctioned had been allotted to Ramanagara, represented by Mr. Kumaraswamy, Holenarasipur, represented by his brother, H.D. Revanna, and Shikaripur, represented by Mr. Yeddyurappa. Terming the “Grama Vatsavya” and “Janata Darshan” programmes failures, Mr. Sindhia wanted to know how these programmes had helped in changing the lives of the people. Around two lakh applications submitted by the people during the “Janata Darshan” programme to Mr. Kumaraswamy seeking relief were yet to be acted on, he said. On the revival of the demand for separate statehood for the Hyderabad Karnataka region, Mr. Sindhia said that the State Government should take it seriously and act accordingly.
