ALAPPUZHA: The ‘Pooyam’ and ‘Aayilyam’ festivals at the historic Mannarsala Nagaraja Temple, near Haripad, were celebrated here with much religious fervour on Thursday and Friday. The Pooyam festival, which marked the conclusion of the 12-day pujas at the temple conducted by the head priestess, ‘Mannarsala Amma,’ was followed by a feast at the temple on Thursday. On Friday, the Aayilyam festival drew lakhs of devotees from different parts of the State. —Staff Reporter
