Seminar on heritage sites

KOZHIKODE: The Malabar Chamber of Commerce, in association with various organisations, will conduct a seminar and exhibition at the chamber hall here on Saturday on conserving the heritage sites of Malabar. The exhibition will be held on Sunday also at the venue.

S.M. Vijayanand, Principal Secretary, Local Self-Government Department, will inaugurate the seminar. M.G.S. Narayanan, historian and president of Calicut Heritage Initiative, will speak.

A presentation on heritage sites of Kozhikode, such as Tali and Kuttichira, will be organised.

The Department of Architecture, National Institute of Technology, Calicut; the heritage initiative; the Archaeological Survey of India; the Tourism Department; the District Tourism Promotion Council; the History Department, Calicut University; the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, Kozhikode centre; the Indian Institute of Architects; and the Kerala Builders’ Forum Kozhikode chapter are associated with the programme.
