BERHAMPUR: The All Orissa BPUT Year Back Students’ Association (AOBYBSA) has threatened to approach Orissa High Court if the technical university, BPUT, and State government did not make any special arrangement for their promotion. Members of the association held a meeting in the city on Friday to chalk out their future plan. It may be noted that following students’ agitation, the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) authorities have lifted the year back system as well as supplementary examination. As per the new norms, any student studying in any degree level course at any technical institution of the State would be eligible for promotion to next class if he attains Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.5. Earlier there was no CGPA system. Students had to pass in at least eight papers out of a total of 12 papers to get promoted.
