SKU exams postponed

ANANTAPUR: succumbing to pressure from students of colleges, the authorities of Sri Krsihnadevaraya University (SKU) here postponed the semester examinations commenced on November 1 to December 3. Pressure from political parties has also played a role in the authorities giving in to the demands of the students.

A section of the students of the university campus have been agitating over the attendance criteria for appearing in examinations for about a fortnight now. Unable to convince the authorities, the students went on an indefinite hunger strike demanding scrapping of the attendance criteria and postponement of exams.

However, the examinations commenced usually on November 1 and the students of the campus boycotted them. Students of other affiliated colleges and the university PG centre at Kurnool have appeared for the first exam on Thursday. A decision on the exam conducted would be taken later.
