Fire accidents

SIVAKASI: Three employees of a fireworks unit were injured following an accidental fire on Friday.

The police said that fire was sparked by friction while cutting ‘rolls’ at the unit at Perapatti.

While K. Ponnudurai suffered burn injuries on his legs, M. Murugan (35) and P. Rajendran (50) sustained injuries after the concrete roof fell on them.

In another fire accident at Mallankinaru, six thatched-roof shops were gutted on Thursday night. However, no one was injured.
