Thiruvananthapuram: The Accountants-General (AGs) of Kerala have imposed curbs on entry into the AGs’ offices, besides asking the police to ensure no agitation is held within its premises either by employees’ unions or their supporters from outside. The Accountants-General have announced the tough measures in the backdrop of an indefinite hunger strike from Monday called by the Audit and Accounts Association. They have also convened the office council comprising staff representatives, subject to the agitators giving a written undertaking that they will henceforth follow all rules, especially the conduct rules. The entry restrictions has been ordered on the basis of a security audit review conducted by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Special Branch CID, City Detachment, and the conduct rules and the Comptroller and Auditor-General’s headquarters office instructions. Only two gates will be kept open, one each for entry and exit. The gates will be closed at 10 a.m. and entry will be restricted through wicket gates or other means.
