Judicial officers flay attack on magistrate

VELLORE: Judicial officers, who met here under the presidentship of B. Ramakrishnan, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Vellore, on Friday adopted a resolution condemning the “brutal attack” by some advocates on Muruganantham, V Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, in his chamber on Wednesday.

D. Arulraj, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Vellore, S. Panneerselvam, Fast Track Court Judge, and other officers participated in the meeting.

Mr. Arulraj said that the judicial officers had forwarded the resolution to Ramalingam, president of Tamil Nadu Judicial Officers’ Association.

Employees of various courts staged a demonstration on the premises of the Integrated Courts Complex here on Friday condemning the attack on the judicial officer as well as some staff members of the V Metropolitan Court, Egmore.
