dated November 3, 1957: Task before youth

President Rajendra Prasad and Prime Minister Nehru on November 1 commended to the youth of the country a broad outlook and a sprit of adventure as the basic qualities necessary for building up the nation and facing the challenge of the new age of science. The President was inaugurating the fourth Inter-University Youth Festival at New Delhi. Mr. Nehru, addressing the vast gathering of students, declared that the world had reached a stage of scientific advancement when it was confronted with a gamble, either committing suicide in the whirl of its own swift advance in technology or conquering space and the skies.
