KOLKATA: Prosonjit Paul of Jharkhand and Mohana Sarker of Bengal annexed triple crowns in the ONGC AITA talent series tennis championship at Jamshedpur. Top seed Paul outplayed Eishan Bahuguna of Delhi 6-1, 6-1 in the boys’ under-16 singles and defeated Baibhav Das of Bengal 2-6, 7-6(0), 11-9 in the boys’ u-18 singles. Later, partnering Das, Paul took the u-18 doubles crown beating top-seeded pair of C.H. Rohit and Sriram Gautam of Andhra Pradesh 4-1, 5-4(5). Mohana, who won the girls’ u-16 title on Thursday, took the u-18 and 16 doubles titles as well. The results: Boys: U-18 singles: Prosonjit Paul (Jha) bt Baibhav Das (Ben) 2-6, 7-6(0), 11-9. Doubles: Paul/ Das bt Rohit/ Gautam (AP) 4-1, 5-4(5). U-16 singles: Paul bt Eishan Bahuguna (Del) 6-1, 6-1.
