Foundation laid for rehabilitation colony for evacuees

Staff Reporter

GUNDLAPALLY (NALGONDA DT.): The State Government accords utmost importance for the rehabilitation of evacuees while taking up irrigation projects under Jala yaganam programme, the Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah has said.

“We can understand the feelings and sentiments of the people, who are forced to forego their lands and homes for the sake of the projects. We don’t leave them in lurch,” he maintained.

The Minister was addressing a public meeting after laying foundation for the rehabilitation colony for the evacuees under the Pulichintala project in this remote village of Mathampally mandal on Thursday.

Mr. Lakshmaiah announced that he would sanction funds to save the Narsimha swamy temple from being submerged due to the construction of the Pulichintala project.

He laid foundation stone to such colonies at Kistapuram and Mellacheruvu.
