Veenadhari passes away

BANGALORE: Well-known social worker and activist for the rights of HIV/AIDS infected persons, Veenadhari (46), died of multi-organ complications at a private hospital in here on Friday. An HIV-positive person herself, Veenadhari contracted the disease from her husband many years ago. After her husband’s death, she moved to Mangalore from Mumbai and started a support group network for HIV positive women and children. She actively campaigned against discrimination of HIV infected persons. — Staff Reporter
