KADAPA: Constituents of the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) will launch a nation-wide agitation at Vijayawada on November 24 asking the government to accept the Swaminathan Committee report in to to, Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Friday.
The UPA government had meted out injustice to paddy farmers by fixing a minimum support price of Rs. 695 per quintal, Rs. 305 lesser than the Rs. 1,000 MSP of wheat, he alleged at a press conference. Paddy farmers did not get any bonus last year, he said adding that farmers were not getting remunerative prices.
