VISAKHAPATNAM: The three-day philately exhibition organised by India Post drew scores of visitors from all over the city and other parts of the State.
Students of various schools had a gala time going round the display looking at the colourful stamps on a wide range of subjects.
Some of them were seen noting interesting facts in their notebooks.
Over 150 philatelists from all over AP had put up their collections at the expo which concluded on Friday. The best part of the expo is the thematic presentation by the participants.
Apart from stamps, first day covers, inland letters and aerogrammes were some of the other exhibits that were on display. It will take at least two hours to quickly go through all the frames displayed on two floors.
The world’s largest passenger ship of its time – the Titanic – with over 1,500 persons onboard sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912.
A wealth of information on the luxury liner can be had from the information provided on sheets along with stamps on the ship, its exploration and disaster issued by various countries.
The section on Indian Native States (Princely States) had stamps issued by eight Princely States.
