CHENNAI: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has criticised the Union and State Governments for having failed to safeguard interests of farmers.
In a statement, Jayalalithaa, general secretary, referred to the Union Government’s move of not fixing the minimum support price of Rs. 1,000 a quintal for paddy.
She criticised the State Government for not pursuing the project of building a bridge in Pudalur union, Thanjavur district.
Demonstration
To highlight the issues and other such problems, the party would hold a demonstration at Chengipatti of Pudalur union on Saturday and the party treasurer O. Paneerselvam would lead the stir.
