HYDERABAD: Striker Khader scored three goals to fashion Hyderabad Sporting’s 4-3 win over Hyderabad Globe in the SAAP premier league prize money football tournament at the Gymkhana here on Friday. Globe shot ahead in the 14th minute when Raeed converted a penalty kick. Within six minutes, Sporting equalised through Khader and soon his teammate Imran scored the second goal (2-1). Khader struck twice later to make it 4-1 for Sporting. But Mika and Saleh scored one goal apiece to reduce the margin for the losers. In another match, State Bank of India and BDL were locked in a 1-1 draw. SBI took the lead in the 15th minute through Prasanjit Banerjee, but S.N. Mallikarjun scored the equaliser for BDL in the 34th minute. DAV in semifinalsDAV Public School (Kukatpally) scored a 25-11, 25-22 win over Hindu Public School in the boys quarterfinals of the CBSE Cluster VII inter-school volleyball tournament here. APLTA mourns NagabhushanamThe Andhra Pradesh Lawn Tennis Association has mourned the demise of T. Nagabhushanam, chairman of Tennis Foundation, also known as Kiran Tennis Foundation. Ashok Kumar, Secretary, APLTA, recalled the contribution of Nagabhushanam for the promotion of the sport and expressed condolences to the bereaved family members. B.S. Krishan Reddy, President, AP Seniors Players Association, also expressed shock at the death of the official, while recalling that the foundation was started as a non-profit voluntary organisation to promote young talent. Nagabhushanam’s contribution of Rs. 14 lakh for laying tennis courts in the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School premises was also recalled with gratitude.
