Kerala in trouble

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Host Kerala was staring at defeat against Hyderabad when rain stopped play on the second day of the South Zone under-15 cricket tournament on Friday.

Hyderabad spinners Vinay Rao (five for 22) and Hanumant Hari (five for 24) bundled out Kerala for 110 in its first innings.

In another match, Goa was 87 for three in 69 overs in reply to Tamil Nadu’s first innings total of 293 for eight.

The scores: Hyderabad 260 in 87 overs vs. Kerala 110 in 57.1 overs (Abhishek Mohan 34, Vinay Rao five for 22, Hanumant Hari five for 24) and 42 for three in 14 overs (Biswajith Patnaik three for 19); Tamil Nadu 293 for eight decl. in 112 overs (V.G. Raju 66, V. Aparjith 62, Ashik Mehra 58, Darshan Mishal five for 66) vs. Goa 87 for three in 39 overs (Anish Narvekar 39, Srinivas 33); Karnataka 275 & four for one in 2.1 overs vs Andra 211 in 83.4 overs (Vikram 64, Siva Koteshwar Rao 41, Sujith Jagadeesh six for 63). — Principal Correspondent
