“Improve law and order situation”

PUDUCHERRY: The Nellithope unit of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s youth wing on Saturday urged the government to take immediate steps to improve the law and order situation in the region.

A youth wing activists’ meeting said that panic had spread among the public owing to the marked increase in crimes such as murder and dacoity. To ensure better law and order maintenance, Additional Superintendents of Police should be appointed for the north and south zones.

The meeting also called for formation of three more police sub-divisions, taking the increase in population into account.
