Arrest warrants against witnesses

Kochi: Ernakulam CBI Special Judge K. Chandrasekhara Pillai issued on Saturday arrest warrants against five witnesses in the Chekannur Moulavi murder case. The witnesses did not turn up after the court allowed them to go abroad. Chekannur P.K. Mohammed Abdul Hassan Moulavi disappeared in July 1993 from his house in Kozhikode. According to the CBI, Moulavi was taken away by a gang of six and killed and buried in a deserted place. The CBI took over the investigation in 1997. — Special Correspondent
