New campus opened

JAIPUR: Pattie Seller, Editor-at-large of New York’s “Fortune” magazine, inaugurated the new campus of the Arch Academy of Fashion Art Design here over the weekend.

The Academy, headed by Archana Surana, imparts specialised and industrially relevant education to students, preparing them to take up challenges in the fast changing world of fashion art and design.

Ms. Seller, inaugurating the new campus in Malviya Nagar Institutional Area here, expressed the hope that the Academy would focus on entrepreneurship while emerging as a world-class centre of excellence in learning and innovation.

Ms. Surana, who attended the “Fortune Most Powerful Women’s Summit” in the US this year, said the Academy’s work was driven by social sensitivity with emphasis on introducing state-of-the-art technology in the field of fashion art. An annual fashion show, “Gaba: The Attire”, was organised on the occasion to depict the fusion of traditional handicraft-based and trendy designs. Upcoming designers, keeping khadi as the base, brought alive the rural craft of Rajasthan in the show.
