Commissioner begins investigation

In M. Krishnasswamy attack case

RAMANATHAPURAM: M.F. Farooqui, Special Commissioner and Commissioner for Revenue Administration, who was appointed by the State Government to investigate the attack on Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasswamy at Keezha Kanniseri near Mudukulathur in Ramanathapuram district on October 29, has begun his enquiry on Friday.

After spending a few hours at Paramakudi near here, Mr. Farooqui visited Keezha Kanniseri and Mudukulathur.

He collected first hand information about the attack on Mr. Krishnasswamy with various officials including the Inspector General of Police, South Zone, Sanjeev Kumar, the Collector, R. Kirlosh Kumar and the Superintendent of Police, R. Thirugnanam.

The Special Commissioner met various police and revenue officials, who were on duty on October 29.

He also studied the route, which Mr. Krishnasswamy used for going to Mudukulathur from Paramakudi.

It is expected that Mr. Farooqui will visit the district again next week to conduct a detailed enquiry.
