Record production at power station

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: The Suratgarh thermal power station in Rajasthan has set a record by producing 94.39 crore units of electricity after achieving a plant load factor of 101.5 per cent in October.

This is the highest power production carried out in a month by the 1,250-MW power plant since its establishment, said the Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, N. S. Chaudhary, here on Saturday. Mr. Chaudhary said the production of 3.1 crore units of electricity on 103.47 per cent PLF on October 31 was also a record set by the power station. All the five units of the plant were operated on more than 100 per cent capacity during October.

Mr. Chaudhary said the Vidyut Utpadan Nigam had made arrangements for operating all power stations on their full capacity following Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s instructions to supply sufficient electricity to farmers during the rabi crop season this year.
