No possibility of polls now: Antony

PATHANAMTHITTA: Defence Minister A.K. Antony said here on Saturday that he did not see the possibility of Lok Sabha elections in the near future.

Mr. Antony was talking to presspersons at the Government Guest House.

He said the Congress had joined hands with the Left parties and various regional parties to form the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre three years ago to protect the nation from the threat posed by communal and divisive forces.

He said the political situation at the national level remained unchanged and hence the chances of an early election were remote.
