Minister to inaugurate welfare forum

KOCHI: Dr. Kalaignar Narpani Mandram will be launched and a seminar on art and politics held here on Sunday at the AJ Hall, Kaloor, from 3 p. m.

Union Minister of State for Law K. Venkatapathy will inaugurate the welfare forum. Kanimozhi, MP, will be the chief guest and Kochi Mayor Mercy Williams will preside.

The former Minister M.K. Muneer will deliver the keynote address and V.K. Ebrahim Kunju, MLA, is among those scheduled to speak at the inauguration.

A meeting of women delegates of the DMK (Kerala unit) will be held at the AJ Hall from 10.30 a.m., says Kumari S. Nair, president of the DMK (Kerala unit).

Mr. Venkatapathy will inaugurate a meeting at which Union Minister of State for Social Welfare Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan and Tamil Nadu Ministers Radhika Selvi, Parithi Elamvazhuthy, Suresh Rajan, Poonkothai and Sankari Narayanan, MLA, DMK organising secretary T.K.S. Elankovan and DMK Women’s wing president Dindugal M.A. Noorjahan Begum are expected to speak.
