CHENNAI: S. Ramaswamy, a distinguished anatomist from Chennai, has been awarded the Dr. Vimala Virmani Award by the National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
He was recognised for his research paper on ‘Hypnotherapy for Stuttering,’ says a communiqué from the Academy.
The award is given for outstanding work in physical and/or psychosocial rehabilitation of neurologically and/or mentally afflicted subjects based on the applicability of the research.
The award was presented at the annual convocation of the academy held at Guru Nanak University, Amritsar, in October.
