Government effects major shuffle of IAS officers

CHENNAI: The State Government effected a major shuffle of IAS officers on Saturday.

M.F. Farooqui, hitherto Development Commissioner and Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration, has been posted as Secretary, Industries Department, in place of Shaktikanta Das, who will be the new Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration.

K. Shanmugham, Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC), has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection Department vice S. Machendranathan, whose services have been placed at the disposal of the TNEB for appointment as its Chairman in place of Hans Raj Verma, who has been posted as Special Secretary, Planning and Development Department. The Secretary, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection, would be the Chairman of the TNCSC.

The services of K. Phanindra Reddy, Special Secretary, Finance Department, are placed at the disposal of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation for appointment as its Managing Director. A. Nagarajan, Director, Anna Institute of Management and Director-General of Training, has been transferred and posted as Development Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Planning and Development Department.

The services of R.Balakrishnan, Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Magnesite Ltd., Salem, are placed at the disposal of the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation Limited for appointment as its Chairman and Managing Director vice K.S.Sripathi.

The services of Sheela Balakrishnan, Special Commissioner for Disciplinary Proceedings, Salem, are placed at the disposal of the Anna Institute of Management for appointment as its Director. She would also function as Director-General of Training.

The services of Hiteshkumar S.Makwana, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Administration (JCMA) are placed at the disposal of TWAD for appointment as its Joint Managing Director.

He will also function as Project Director in-charge of Hogenakkal Water Supply Project.

He will continue to hold the post of JCMA in full additional charge until further orders.

Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Collector, Dharmapuri District, transferred and posted as Collector, Sivaganga District vice M.A.Siddique, who has been posted as Officer on Special Duty, 13th Finance Commission.

He will also function as Ex-officio Joint Secretary, Finance Department.

P.Amudha, Collector, Dindigul District, transferred and posted as Collector, Dharmapuri District.

Kakarla Usha, Additional Commissioner (Education), Corporation of Chennai, transferred and posted as Collector, The Nilgiris District vice Santosh K.Misra, transferred and posted as Collector, Kancheepuram District, vice Pradeep Yadav posted as Additional Secretary, Agriculture Department. Mr.Yadav will also function as Director, Drought Prone Area Programme.

R.Vasuki has been posted as Collector, Dindigul District.

A.Kalimullah Khan, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and Vigilance Officer, STC, Salem, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Coastal Security Group CID vice Karan Singha who has been transferred as IGP, SIT, CB CID.

V.Varadaraju, who was hitherto Superintendent of Police (SP), CB CID-III, Chennai, is the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), St.Thomas Mount, Chennai vice A.Arun who succeeds Mr.Varadaraju in the CB CID.

Pandian, DCP, Traffic (Central), Chennai, has been posted as SP, Special Division, SB CID, Chennai in the place of C.Easwaramoorthy who has been deputed to Government of India as SP, CBI.
