Hyderabad crushes Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Hyderabad crushed Kerala by 10 wickets in the South Zone under-15 cricket tournament at the LNCPE ground here on Saturday.

At Agriculture College ground, rain brought a pre-mature end to a topsy-turvy contest when Andhra appeared to be in the driver’s seat.

Andhra needed 168 to score an outright win but only one over could be bowled after lunch as heavy rain played the spoilsport.

The scores: Hyderabad 260 & 31 for three in 3 overs bt Kerala 110 & 180 in 69.5 overs (R.S.Renjith 53, Vinay Rao four for 42, Akash Bhandari three for 26);

Tamil Nadu 293 for eight decl drew with Goa 181 for nine in 133 overs (Srinivas Fathe 51, Anish Narvekar 39, Barath Shankar four for 31);

Karnataka 275 & 103 in 40.3 (Vikram Venkat 50, Sharath Babu four for 15, Jagadeesh Kumar 3-10) drew with Andhra 211 & four for no loss in 0.5 overs. — Principal Correspondent
