Nitish ‘disrupts’ school exam schedule
K. Balchand
PATNA: The second terminal examinations of 600 students of Shri Krishna Jagdeo Prasad High School in Samastipur district were postponed to host an official function by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the premises.
The function did not concern the school and the principal had no choice but to cancel the examinations much to the disadvantage of the students.
The most shameful part was the misuse of the school benches and desks to erect a temporary bridge on a drain for the people to attend the function. These benches and desks were also used to set up the rostrum from where the Chief Minister conducted his programme.
It was surprising that the authorities decided upon misusing the resources of the school for such purposes when funds and requisite materials are provided for such jobs. With no place to sit, the school had no option but to suspend classes on Saturday much to the chagrin of the children who spent the day listening to a political speech.
