Students skate to glory

Thanjavur: Seventy-five students from various schools in Thanjavur district participated in the district level roller skating championship organised by Thanjavur Roller Skating Association. The championship was held at Kamala Subramaniam Matriculation Higher Secondary school. The students participated in rink race, time trials and rule round and exhibited their talents.

According to S. Raju, Coach and secretary of the Thanjavur Roller Skating Association, competitions were held for seven categories of students. Besides selecting the district level champions, selection for the state team was also made in the competitions. They will take part in the state level at Chennai. Sp.Valliappan, Trustee, Kamala Subramaniam Higher Secondary School distributed the prizes. S. Uma Parvathi, Principal, participated.
