IN ACTION: Jal, a rock band from Pakistan, performing on the b-school campus in Bhubaneswar. BHUBANESWAR: Four-day-long annual festival, Xpression-2007, at the leading B-school, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), came to an end here on Sunday with winners of several competitions walking away with their prize money. Cassini Division, a modern rock band from Kolkata, produced a scintillating performance as the students from different b-schools as well as technical institutes danced to the tune of some of their famous English compositions. Thrilling all the wayAtmosphere was truly thrilling. Xpression-07, which is one of the most sought after campus festivals, could not have a better finale than this. Before Cassini band setting the floor on fire, students made a beeline for Carnivale de Vogue, the fashion show. Every move on the stage was receiving a huge cheer from the sea of young students. Names of winner of competitions such as Kurkshetra, Fourth Estate and Ananya were announced on Sunday. Xpressions’07 advanced into the concluding day after Pakistan band performer ‘Jal’ made the crowds dance by their spellbound music on Saturday evening. The eruption at campus of XIMB never showed signs of slowing down as the band exhibited their skills. “I enjoyed the music and loved everything at Xpressions and the credit for success goes to the team effort. It is a matter of great satisfaction that a Pakistani band took all the pains to travel such a long distance to entertain people. I am delighted to come back to XIMB campus for Xpressions,” said Vivek Maheshwari who received an MBA degree this year and currently working for Ernst & Young in Mumbai. The show witnessed huge turnout as the privileged passes were most sought in the four-day Xpressions’07. There were a fewer chairs in the ground than the audience but hardly anybody complained about this as audience wanted to be on their toe rather than sit and enjoy music.
