Felicitated

BHUBANESWAR: Orissa Government felicitated five hockey players from the State who represented national team that won Asia Cup. The gesture, however, raised eyebrows as critics said the State Government woke very late to recognise its son of the soil.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik lead the battery of ministers on Sunday to felicitate Team India captain Prabodh Tirkey, legendary Dilip Tirkey, William Xalxo, Ignace Tirkey and Roshan Minz, who were part of the winning team.

All the players were given a cash award of Rs. 2.5 lakh, which was drawn from different State public sector companies and State.
