DAVANGERE: The Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET) has formed a forum called “Samskruthi” under which it plans to protect and popularise the ancient tradition, culture and heritage of the country. Principal of BIET B.T. Achuth said here on Sunday that most students were attracted by Western cultural practices, abdicating all interest in our invaluable tradition and heritage. It was high time students, particularly those studying in professional courses be made aware of our culture. “Samskruthi” intends to impart knowledge to students on yoga, meditation, Vedas, Upanishads, Indian music, dance, art, folklore and also plans to organise seminars and workshops in each of the above aspects, he said.
