PALAKKAD: The 10-day-long Kalpathy music festival, held as part of the Kalpathy Car Festival, was inaugurated at Chathapuram in Kalpathy on Sunday by Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Jose Baby. K.K. Divakaran, MLA, presided over the function. District panchayat president Subaida Ishaq; Disrict Collector K.S. Srinivas; muncipal councillor P.N. Viswanathan; joint conveners of the organising committee N.N. Ramachandran, and Jayapala Menon, among others, spoke. The inaugural function was followed by a carnatic music concert by Bombay Jayashri Ramanth. — Staff Reporter
