St. Joseph’s in final

KOTTAYAM: St. Joseph’s HSS, Pulincunnu, stormed into the boys’ final in 4th Lourdean all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament at the Lourdes floodlit stadium here on Sunday.

In the semifinals, St. Joseph HSS defeated G.V. Raja Sports School, Thiruvananthapuram 65-44.

Ashin scores

Ashin Xavier did bulk of the scoring for the winner with 27 points while Basil Philip top scored for G.V. Raja with 12 points.

SN Trust HSS, Kollam defeated G.V. Raja Sports School, Thiruvananthapuram 42-23 to enter the final in the girls’ section.

Boys: Semifinals: St. Joseph HSS, Pulincunnu 65 (Ashin Xavier 27, Samju A.Joy 12) bt G.V. Raja Sports School, Thiruvananthapuram 44 (Basil Philip 12). Quarterfinals: St. Thomas HSS, Thiruvananthapuram 54 (Sanath Mohan 14) bt St. Thomas HSS, Kozhencherry 23.

St. Ephremes, Mannanam bt St.Mary’s, Chempakulam 31-13; St. Joseph HSS, Pulincunnu bt Kristhu Jyothi, Chettipuzha 24-11.

Girls: Semifinals: SN Trust HSS, Kollam 42 (P. Lijimol 14, Stephy Nixon 13) bt G.V.Raja Sports School, Thiruvananthapuram 23 (K.P. Arya 11).

Quarterfinals: SN Trust HSS, Kollam bt Lourde Public School, Kottayam 11-6; Mount Carmle 30 (M.Sona 10) bt St. Thereses, Vazhapally 13.

GVHSS, Kannur 54 (M.Lisha 17, Anusha 13) bt GVHSS, Vilaadom 30 (Merin Baby 15).
