CHENNAI: Armaan Ebrahim, the 18-year-old driver from Chennai, triumphed in the Formula Renault V6 Asia race in Zuhai, China.

Starting third in the 20-lap grand race, Armaan took the lead in the first corner and pressed home the advantage. By the tenth lap, he had opened up a six-second lead — a lead he maintained till the chequered flag. Armaan had earlier finished third in the sprint race.

“The grand race was very important for me to do well as I was very keen on matching the pace of the very experienced Yoshimoto (GP 2 driver),” said Armaan.

“It was just perfect! I got a great start and made it to the lead keeping my complete focus on lap-time consistency.”
