Problems at TSR Complex

All is not well with the atmosphere at TSR shopping complex owned by the GVMC in Dwarakanagar. The entire stretch of the road in front of the shops has been damaged and a large part of the road has been encroached by unauthorised persons who have permanently set up pan shops and eateries. Even the GVMC has encroached the road by parking mini vans having water tanks. Even if all the encroachments are removed, the space available for parking is inadequate.

The MunicipalCommissioner is requested to take remedial measures.

Ban on cell phones

With cell phones become a necessity rather than being a luxury, students find it difficult to part with them in schools and colleges. Most of the educational institutions have banned mobile phones. In view of the restriction, schools and colleges should arrange for setting up a PCO inside their campus.

Woes of small farmers

I had been to Seethammadhara Rythu Bazar recently at 7 a.m. and found that 30 per cent of stalls were vacant and the other stalls were selling vegetables but fresh vegetables like the ‘Vellanki’ brinjals, which are otherwise available in abundance outside, were conspicuously absent at the Rythu Bazaar. On inquiry, it was revealed that small farmers were not offered remunerative prices so these farmers have left the Rythu Bazaar. Vellanki brinjal is sold in open market at Rs.18 to Rs.20 per kg, whereas in Rythu Bazaars the price is fixed at Rs. 8. The Rythu Bazaar officials should ensure that the prices are not abnormally less than the open market, as otherwise small farmers would avoid Rythu Bazaar.
