Couple hit by car, seriously injured

NEW DELHI: A couple riding a cycle sustained injuries when a car hit them near the Nizamuddin bridge here on Sunday.

The erring driver has been arrested.

The accident took place around 10-30 a.m. when Shashendra (40) and his wife Balsama, residents of Chilla Goan, were going to Rani Bagh on a cycle.

On the way, Balsama’s sari got stuck in the cycle’s spoke.

Shashendra was trying to untangle it when the car allegedly driven by Rajendra hit them.

Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital by Rajendra.
