Electrocuted

TAMBARAM: A 13-year-old boy was electrocuted in Anakaputhur near Pallavaram on Friday.

The Shankar Nagar police said P.Mohan, studying in VII Standard at a government school in Anakaputhur, was playing near his house in Anna Nagar. Following incessant rain and strong winds, the overhead power cables had snapped and fallen on the ground. Mohan came in contact a live wire and fell unconscious, the police said.

Neighbours rushed Mohan to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
