Advertisers warned

BANGALORE: Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner S. Subramanya has warned outdoor advertisers that they will be blacklisted if they do not comply with the advertisement bylaws by November 10.

All those who had taken prior permission from the BBMP must compulsorily display the licence number and the licence period on the hoardings failing which the boards will be considered as illegal and pulled down from November 11, a press release said.

As per the bylaws, the name of the company and the permit number should be displayed in bold letters. Besides, the advertisers should use Kannada on the boards, the release added.

BBMP Administrator Dilip Rau has directed BBMP officials to ensure that an additional composting machine is installed at the Karnataka Compost Development Corporation near Koodlu on Hosur Road.

Mr. Rau, who inspected the plant on Saturday, noticed that the plant needed an additional machine to handle all the 300 tonnes of garbage dumped there. As much as 50 per cent of the machine cost can be contributed by the BBMP, he said.
